Gandolfi and Blacks' book proposes and opens us up, through the theme of specific learning disabilities and with the in-depth study of "what it takes to achieve the conquest of writing, reading and arithmetic", to a broader reflection on the theme of the "quality" of the educational relationship. And quality has to do with the kind of investment the adult makes in the children they interact with. Who is a child? What is the relationship between teaching and learning? What is the role of the adult? [...]
