Authors

The author proposes a point of view on homogeneity, in particular that of the single male. He suggests how crucial it is to reconsider the way in which skills and emotional willingness to become a parent are built, the emergence of the propensity to parent as a process, the opportunity to confront one's own homophobic prejudices, conscious and unconscious, those of others and patients themselves, the controversial problems and questions regarding access to Medically Assisted Reproduction (MAP) and Gestation for Others (GPA), cross-referenced with the regulations of different countries, the opportunity to create a "procreative setting", the evidence of basic research on the interaction between homosexual parents and children, any suggestions that the psychoanalyst can provide regarding the development of the child in the homogeneous family. Taking up Lichtenberg's thought, the author describes twelve guidelines for parenting and, when possible, indicates some homogeneous specificities. He also discusses the recourse of the single gay male to Gestation for Others and considers the different variables that make up the "procreative setting". Finally, he tells some passages from the clinical history of Luca, a single gay patient who wants to become a parent.
