Authors

Jaakko Seikkula, the Finnish psychologist who is the main inspirer of the Open Dialogue method, draws explicit inspiration in his model of intervention from the work of Michail Bachtin, an important Soviet literary critic. The present work highlights the connections between Bachtin's interpretation of Fyodor Dostoevsky's thought, an interpretation inspired by polyphonic dialogue, and the Open Dialogue model itself, which makes therapeutic use of it.
