In the tale of the emperor"s new clothes the voice of a child is enoght to make everybody admit what they already see, but cannot admit even to themselves, that is, that the king is actually naked. The sory does not tell what happens afterwards, but it is most likely that the latter, not being able to maintain the make-believe any longer, abandons the desire for a dress marvellous but non-existing, and starts locking for more honest tailors to have clothes less dashing but closer to reality.
