In the short paper some characteristics of the setting and of the couple's bond according to the intersubjective and relational paradigm are presented. The dyadic nature of the couple's relationship is particularly highlighted, in its dimensions of "functional" bond structured in an implicit unconscious system, in continuous transformation, which accompanies the development of the two partners. In this context the question of transference and counter-transference, of the possible evolutionary meaning of the couple's crisis in the therapeutic setting as a passage to new equilibriums and solutions for the love bond in the couple, is addressed.
